Goodwell, Okla- Oklahoma Panhandle State University is proud to announce Vicki Pasque as the new Dean of the College of Business and Technology. With more than 20 years of service to OPSU, Pasque brings valuable experience, an understanding of the university’s mission, and a clear vision for the future of the college.
Pasque has spent the past two decades in OPSU’s Computer Information Systems department and recently served as interim dean of the college. In that time, she has played a vital role in shaping programs, mentoring students, and supporting faculty development. Now, she steps into this leadership role with a plan focused on growth, community connection, and student success.
“In the short term, I’m focused on strengthening our academic programs, enhancing student outcomes, and deepening our community relationships, including building strong connections with local schools and businesses,” Pasque said.
A key initiative in this effort is the upcoming Panhandle Tech Program, opening technical courses for concurrent enrollment to qualifying high school students in the region.
Longer-term, Pasque hopes to shape the College of Business and Technology into a valuable community resource. “We want to offer more than just degrees. We want to prepare students for meaningful careers and contribute to the growth and vitality of the Panhandle,” she said. “This region has a legacy of grit, determination, and people helping one another. That’s the spirit we want to reflect in everything we do.”
Pasque is also working to expand the college’s academic offerings. Two new business concentrations, Hospitality and Tourism, and Sports and Recreation Management, are in development to serve growing student interest and regional industry needs. She also plans to grow partnerships with local school districts and businesses to create more opportunities for internships, dual credit, and real-world learning.
To Pasque, student success is about more than graduation rates. “It means helping students build the confidence, curiosity, and critical thinking skills they’ll need long after they leave OPSU,” she said. “It’s about preparing them for a lifetime of learning, growth, and contribution to their communities.”
Pasque is also focused on supporting the faculty who serve as the foundation of the college. She is committed to promoting faculty development and increasing engagement with industry leaders through guest lectures, advisory boards, and collaborative projects that bring value to both students and educators.
Dr. Charla Lewis, Vice President of Academic Affairs, shared her thoughts on Pasque’s appointment. “Vicki brings a thoughtful, mission-driven approach to leadership. She understands what makes the Panhandle and OPSU so unique. Her ability to listen, collaborate, and keep students at the center of every decision makes her exactly the kind of leader the College of Business and Technology needs.”
“Vicki Pasque brings years of institutional knowledge and a deep understanding of the Panhandle to her new role as dean,” said OPSU President Dr. Julie Dinger. “I appreciate her commitment to our students and her willingness to step into leadership at a time of growth and change for the College of Business and Technology. I look forward to seeing how she continues to advance the college’s mission in service to our region.”
Pasque said her time at OPSU has prepared her well for this new role. “I’ve been fortunate to work alongside dedicated educators and staff who truly care about our students,” she said. “This is a place that values service, resilience, and community. I’m honored to help lead the next chapter of our college.”
With Pasque in place as dean, the College of Business and Technology is poised to continue growing its impact on campus and across the Oklahoma Panhandle.
